PROMOTING SEF-HELP & SOFT-SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

We are forming and promoting the self-help group (SHG) business model among women members of society, with groups consisting of 5 to 11 members who engage in equal participation and collective leadership. This approach is impactful in improving skills and financially empowering communities, particularly women from weaker sections of society. We provide training, loans, and assistance to encourage their growth and development.

These groups meet regularly to discuss their goals, savings, and challenges. A common goal is established by the group for a specific period, with a focus on achievement. Our supervisors audit and monitor their activities. The groups set goals consecutively and competently strive to meet them, while also increasing their income benefits.

Skill Development and Entrepreneurship:

(a) Training Programs : SHGs frequently participate in skill development programs that equip members with vocational skills and knowledge related to running a business. After gaining training, experience, and skills in banking channels, it becomes much easier to operate business establishments.

(b) Micro-Enterprise Creation : Members are encouraged to start small enterprises by leveraging their collective resources and skills. Examples include tailoring, handicrafts, agriculture related activities, and food processing.

(c) Expansion : Successful entrepreneurs can provide significant engagement in their business establishments. This presents larger opportunities for job creation.

(d) Soft Skills Programs : We offer internship programs for interested educators to improve their skills, knowledge, and experience. Internship candidates receive comprehensive training in soft skills. It helps them start their corporate careers more easily and also builds confidence for self-engagement.

The self-help group model in India has demonstrated the power of collective action in driving social and economic change. By focusing on savings, loans, skill development, and entrepreneurship, SHGs empower individuals and contribute to community development. As this model continues to evolve, it holds significant potential for fostering sustainable economic growth and resilience among marginalised populations in India.
